2018 DAY ONE: Kickoff Whynotmakeithappen

Back again in Jalandhar for the 6th International Design week at Apeejay College of Fine Arts.

On arrival at the station we already had a warm welcome by students who came back from a National Festival winning the golden award. It feels good to meet again with students and colleagues!

Last year students addressed challenges for improving city life. The focus was how to identify, research, and communicate a social design challenge. This year we take up ten of their topics again and try to develop concrete design solutions for them. Linking the industry around Jalandhar in those solutions is another objective for this week.

After the inaugural ceremony we took off by introducing the theme ending up in a great JUMBOMIX show: each group received by chance a combination of topic, industry and context to crack their creative brains on this week. WHYNOTMAKEITHAPPEN took off!
